CPDEX6250 EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY PLANNING
Course Description :
This course builds on the foundation knowledge gained from CPDEX6150 to consider factors that influence fitness and performance. It introduces physiological principles to optimise training and considers the nutritional and environmental factors on performance. It is specifically relevant for athletes, coaches and teachers where application of knowledge to their own sporting and educational context is paramount.
Nutrition and Performance- CHO, Fats and Protein
Ergogenic Aids - caffeine, creatine, HMB
Environmental Physiology - exercise in heat, cold and altitude
Training for Sport - detraining, over-training, over-reaching
Principles of Training -iosometric, isokinetic training
Learning outcomes: This course aims to develop an understanding of physiological terminology, principles and practices as applicable to coaches, athletes and educators. The course aims to allow coaches to apply this knowledge to their own coaching practice.
